20 Minute Full Body Pilates Class

If we bring the 6 Pilates Principles to mind, ‘Concentration’ is one of them. Joseph Pilates believed it was important for students to focus intently on the movements their bodies are performing

Thanks to scientific research around mindfulness and meditation, we now know for certain that this kind of “mindful movement” can reduce stress, blood pressure, and can help us manage pain better.

Concentrating on your body whilst doing your Pilates exercises – and really tuning into it, brings a new form of awareness and lots of benefits.

By focusing your attention inwards, you can learn to feel where you are moving from and what muscles are working. Through this your body awareness will increase and this can help you become more efficient in your daily movement. So let’s remember this during today’s workout!

    30 Minute Pilates Alignment Class

Today’s class is about coming into bodily alignment. By lengthening and stretching, we become more at ease and present in our bodies.

Movement is an amazing way to get out of the head and into the present in the body. Let’s use today’s class to consciously stretch and come back home to bodily awareness.

    30 minute Pilates Bodyweight Workout

Let’s use today to envision what it is you want to get from your Pilates and well-being practices.

At the start of class we’ll put some energy and thought into what we want to get from class today- is it fitness, a de-stress, just stretching and movement? We can visialize what we’re aiming to achieve and let them unfold with more ease. Our meditation in part 2 will also be a visualisation.

Tuning Into Self and Intuition

A sound bath is a meditative experience you are “bathed” in sound waves. These waves are produced by different healing instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, percussion, chimes, and even the voice. It has the power to relax the nervous system and release stuck emotions.

It’s best to be lying down, or in savasana, with eyes closed or using an eye pillow. You can use a cosy blanket and get comfy. Please listen with headphones for the best experience.

The general intention of a sound bath is to create a state of harmony in the listener by using sound to clear any discordance from the energy field. Among the benefits are relaxation, an increased sense of wellbeing, expanded awareness, and access to inner visionary experience.

In addition to helping the body relax, some healing sound practitioners argue that sound baths can potentially foster physical healing, similar to acupuncture. This one was performed specifically for the challenge by Enso Space- a meditation centre in Estoril, Portugal. Relax and enjoy!

Full Moon Breathwork Session

Today’s Leo Full Moon is a potent release point and comes in the midst of a lot of powerful energetic shifts. Pluto moved into Aquarius on Saturday 20th which signals a huge collective movement into more individual expression and deep growth in the Aquarius part of your chart. On Saturday 26th of January we have Uranus moving direct which means that we then have all planets direct (out of retrograde) until April. That means one thing- movement! We can make things happen now. The Leo full moon also brings to us an idea we’ve been working with- bringing in more fun, play and creativity. How do we enjoy life while balancing with the structure and discipline of Capricorn? This balance is something we are learning. Life could feel a bit frenetic, but if we use the moon as a way to feel into what we need to let go of to really move forward, it will speak to us and light up our lives with a sprinkle of full moon magic. If you feel emotional- use the breathwork as a way to ground and release. Breathwork is an incredibkle tool for connecting to the heart and unblocking emotional ‘dams in the flow of the river’. It allows us processing time. Enjoy!

Visualisation Meditation

Today’s meditation is for visualising what we want to create in our lives. These don’t have to be fixed ideas, more a flow that can shift and change. What does your intuition tell you you want to bring into your life? Let those visions come up so you can set the intention to let those things start to naturally unfold in the right timing.
