A traditional Japanese system of energy healing, Reiki (霊気, meaning “spiritual energy” or “universal life force”), is used to channel invisible, subtle energy through the hands to promote balance, healing, and spiritual awakening. It’s a way for us to come more into contact with the present, to soften and to heal where energies may be imbalanced. It can work with the chakras and can be beautifully combined with sound therapy if requested.

Reiki – The Subtle Art of Universal Energy Healing

Why choose Reiki?

Reiki is an incredible tool for calming a stressed mind and body by bringing energies back into flow. It can work with the chakras and the subtle energy bodies to restore balance. It can be done in person or remotely. I offer remote sessions and practice it in my classes when it’s called for.

“Just for today, do not anger. Just for today, do not worry. Be grateful. Work with diligence. Be kind to others.”

How Reiki works with Yogic Philosophy

The koshas come from Vedantic philosophy and appear in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras- the guidebook text for Yoga. Koshas describe five energy bodies or "sheaths" that surround us as humans, or our true Self (Atman):

Annamaya Kosha -Physical body (made of food and matter)

Pranamaya Kosha -Energy or vital life force body (prana)

Manomaya Kosha - Mental/emotional body (mind and emotions)

Vijnanamaya Kosha -Intellectual or wisdom body (intellect, discernment)

Anandamaya Kosha -Bliss body (deep peace, joy, spiritual bliss)

Reiki primarily works on the Pranamaya Kosha, the energy or vital force body. As a Reiki practitioner, I channel universal life energy (often called ki or prana) to balance and clear blockages in this subtle energy field.
